A Home Run Day with Eli’s Place & the Toronto Blue Jays
More Than a Game
This summer, Beat the Streets athletes had the opportunity to experience an unforgettable day at the Toronto Blue Jays game!
From cheering in the stands to enjoying ballpark snacks and taking in the excitement of a Major League Baseball game, the day was filled with laughter, connection, and plenty of memorable moments.
For our athletes, opportunities like this are about so much more than watching a baseball game. They create space for connection, belonging, friendship, and new experiences, all of which are an important part of building confident and resilient young people.
Creating Memories Beyond the Mat
At Beat the Streets, we know that sport is about more than competition. Wrestling gives our athletes a place to challenge themselves, build relationships, and develop confidence—and experiences outside the gym can be just as meaningful.
A day at the Blue Jays game gave our athletes the chance to spend time together in a completely different setting, celebrate one another, and simply have fun.
For some, attending a professional sporting event can be a new experience. Being surrounded by thousands of fans, cheering together, sharing a meal, and watching the game unfold creates memories that can stay with our athletes long after the final pitch.
The Power of Community
Days like this are possible because of the incredible community surrounding Beat the Streets.
We are incredibly grateful to Eli’s Place for helping make this experience possible and for their continued commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young people.
Eli’s Place is working to build Canada’s first rural, residential treatment centre for young adults aged 18–35 living with serious mental illness. Their recovery-based model focuses on individualized therapeutic care, community, and the development of the life and work skills young people need to thrive.
Their work reflects something we value deeply at Beat the Streets. It is a place where young people deserve opportunities to feel supported, connected, and part of a community.
Thank You!
A huge thank you to the team at Eli’s Place for treating our athletes to such a memorable day at the ballpark.
Thank you, Blue, David, and Deborah. Your generosity creates opportunities for our athletes to experience new things, build connections, and make memories together.
We’re grateful for partners who believe in our young people and help us create experiences that extend far beyond the wrestling mat.
Thank you for helping make it a home run!
