Programme assistant here!

This is my second year back with Beat the Streets (BTS) and I am the Programme Assistant. A year later, I can say that BTS has taught me so many skills that helped me in my career goals and social, mental and physical well-being. The WorkIt program exceeded beyond my expectations and is better than any 9-5 job I have ever had. BTS works to empower youth to become more resilient, active and prepare to enter the workforce. This program was one of the best things that I have ever participated in, it taught me to dream and do big things. The best part was interviewing and selecting the next set of incoming youth to participate in this program. One of my favourite parts was coming back every couple of weeks to do some volunteer work and seeing the new employees grow more and more confident each time.

More about me

I am currently a nursing student at MoMac working to obtain my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BsCN) degree. On my free time I love to cook with my friends, take polaroid pictures, paint and lift weights. I am currently learning how to dance, film and play the piano again. Unfortunately for my roommates, I love to sing, very loudly and poorly. One thing I will always say yes to is someone asking me to dress up as any character in a moustache.
