Thank You, OTF: Strengthening Our Foundation to Serve Youth Better

On June 30, 2025, BTS hosted a donor recognition event to thank the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) and celebrate the incredible impact of our Resilient Communities Fund grant.

We were joined by MPP Rudy Cuzzetto (Mississauga–Lakeshore), whose presence underscored the importance of these types of investments: those that may be invisible to the public but are essential behind the scenes.

This $54,000 grant didn’t fund equipment, snacks, or mat time, it funded infrastructure. It helped us:

  • Create our first-ever Operational Plan

  • Build a Board Governance & Capacity Building Handbook

  • Launch a Social Media Strategy that increased engagement by 15%

  • Develop a Collaboration Toolkit to support partnerships

  • Complete a Social Enterprise Feasibility Report that could sustain our future

We've already seen the results of this quiet and strategic work. We've secured new funders, launched pilot pathways and built and improved internal systems which will ensure we can scale responsibly and serve more youth for years to come.

As MPP Cuzzetto said:

“This grant is an investment in the power of community, mentorship, and youth. Investing in youth sports is investing in stronger, healthier communities.”
