Open Mat Summer Sessions Are Off to a Strong Start

First day of Open Mat Sessions with Beat the Streets

We’re back on the mats! Beat the Streets’ Open Mat Summer Sessions kicked off this week, and what a launch it was. Nearly 40 athletes showed up on Day 1, ready to put in work and level up their game… even on Canada Day.

Coaches Braxton and Dillon led a dynamic session focused on wrestling fundamentals, followed by a tough conditioning round to set the tone for the summer. The energy, focus, and commitment from the athletes were unmatched. We’re already feeling the momentum.

And this is just the beginning.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be welcoming some of Canada’s top talent to the room:

  • Hannah Taylor, 2024 Olympian

  • Ligrit Sadiku, multi-time National Champion

  • Jevon Balfour, Pan Am Games Bronze Medallist

Stay tuned for weekly updates, photos, and behind-the-scenes highlights as we build strength, confidence, and community, one session at a time.

Let’s make this summer count.
